InterFit
was founded in 1989 to offer services that improve the health and quality
of life of individuals through their employers. We began in the early
years by providing health screening services to employees at employer-sponsored
programs, and direct to consumers through retail outlets.
By the mid 90’s, we served corporate clients around the country,
and had begun delivering regularly scheduled rotational screening events
in retail grocery and pharmacy stores throughout the U.S.,initially
at Safeway owned stores (Randalls, Albertsons, Tom Thumb, Safeway, depending
on the market), then at H-E-B, Wal-Mart, and other pharmacy chains.
In 1995, we started the Fitness Management division with contracts to
manage fitness centers for Texaco in Houston, Texas. Soon after, we
won contracts to develop and manage fitness centers for BMC Software,
El Paso Corp., BP, and Coca-Cola followed by others.
In 2000, we split the Health Screening division and Fitness Management
division into two separate companies - InterFit Health, and InterFit
Fitness Management Company. InterFit Health (the original screening
company) evolved into what is now known as RediClinic, a chain of convenient
care medical clinics that operate mainly in H-E-B grocery/pharmacy stores
in Texas.
Now that our services are more focused on the physical activity area
of employee health, we continue to feel the rewards of stories from
individuals we serve who report that they have made significant improvements
in their weight, endurance, strength, and overall health in ways that
lead them to feel healthier and better about themselves and their future.
And, we also feel the satisfaction of knowing we’ve helped employers
positively impact the health and productivity of their workforce as
a whole.
